Why We Seek To Get Fit...

And Admire Fitness In Others

By Coach Eddie Lomax

The ability to get fit, stay healthy and be attractive is held in high regard by both men and women. We seek these traits for ourselves, admire and even envy it in others and are secretly tormented when we don't have them.

The desire to get fit, improve health and attain beauty is what drives us to look for physical fitness programs and fitness products in the first place.

But where did all these fitness, health and beauty desires come from?

Have you ever wondered why that "little voice of disappointment" speaks to youwhen you look in the mirror and don't like what you see, or when you fail to perform one of life's activities as well as you would like?

"You're out of shape... time to get fit!"

The "little voice" reminding you that you are not the best you can be, and you better do something about it.

"Better get fit... or you'll be sorry!"

That "little voice" coming from someplace deep down inside, haunting you with the knowledge your body and physical abilities are lacking.

"You should be ashamed of yourself... GET FIT!!!"

No, this is not brought on by some vain, selfish desire, or as a side effect of mass-media brainwashing... but rather originates from one of the most basic, primal instincts we all share.

This is the survival of the fittest instinct talking.

This "little voice" is a remnant of human evolution... where we developed the principles governing the human body and the physical abilities and traits allowing us to survive, flourish and excel as a species for thousands of years.

The little voice wants you to develop the physical abilities needed to survive, flourish and excel in your natural environment. It wants you to get fit.

It wants you to develop the lean, muscular, athletic body exemplifying those physical abilities. It wants your to have the physical appearance accompanying fitness.

Ultimately, it wants you to be the best you can be. And it will not be silent until you do something about it.

The Intervention Of

Human Intelligence...

More Comfort - Less Fitness!

At some point in history human intelligence intervened and we learned how to control our environment. And we use this knowledge to make our lives more comfortable and less demanding.

The environment in which we lived and our way of life changed dramatically. But our bodies and the biological mechanisms enabling us to survive for thousands of years remained unchanged. Even though it was no longer necessary to get fit to survive, our bodies remained programmed to seek fitness.

After all, our body does not want to relinquish those hard earned evolutionary gains. So even though our environment is less demanding, our body stubbornly remains prepared for the worst.

As the stresses forcing us to get fit became less and less numerous in our natural environment, our daily lives had to be augmented with physical trainingif we were to continue to improve and become the best we could be. Since this "fitness environment" no longer exists naturally in our lives due to the endless meddling of human invention, we must create it with the help of physical training if we are to get fit.

This is the reason we need to participate in workout programs to promote fitness, fat loss and build muscle. The benefits of physical activity is no longer provided to us by our everyday environment and physical activities.

The Struggle To Get Fit

In the Modern World

Almost everywhere you look in modern society, we see behavior patterns and entire lifestyles leading to unfit, unhealthy men and women with unappealing physical traits. It seems everything in our immediate physical environment pulls us further away from a natural state of fitness, health and beauty.

There are many obstacles keeping us from achieving our fitness and physique goals. Finding the time, acquiring the knowledge and harvesting the energy to pursue the best within us often seems like an impossible task. This is why it is so important to find the right physical training programs to help you with your journey to get fit.

There is a common belief that the ability to naturallydevelop and maintain a high level of fitness, health and attractiveness in the modern world is impossible for the average person. Many people believe fitness (and the body that accompanies fitness), is only obtainable for a select few.

What's worse, some people don't believe the time and effort it takes to get fit is worth it. They claim we no longer need the physical abilities and lean, athletic bodies of our ancestors in order to survive in the modern world. Unfortunately for them, they miss out on the #1 result of fitness. Being fit, healthy and attractive allows you to live a higher quality of life and live life to the fullest!

The choice between being fit, healthy and attractive or unfit, unhealthy and unattractive is a no-brainer. We instinctually choose the former over the latter. Stop ignoring the "little voice" of your evolutionary past, and give it what it wants.

Because what it wants is what you want. Your “little voice” wants a lean, muscular body and the physical ability to live life to the fullest.
